Interest Groups

NEMCO Continuing Interest Groups for YOU!

Great Decisions – Meets every Monday from 1:30-3:30pm during February and March. This is an eight-week program developed by the Foreign Policy Association. It is the oldest and largest grass-roots world affairs educational program of its kind. The group meets virtually, and volunteers facilitate at each meeting using video and discussion materials supplied by the FPA.

Laurel House Project – is a two-pronged program of service and donations. Members may volunteer service, donate needed items, or money. There are opportunities for all Branch members to participate and support “the vision of ending domestic violence in each life, home, and community.”

Lunch Bunch – Meets for lunch at 12 noon on the third Wednesday of each month in various restaurants in the area such as Springhouse Tavern, Olive Garden, and Arpeggio.

Nonfiction Book Group – Meets throughout the year. The Nonfiction Book Group grew out of interest in topics studied in Great Decisions. Books are selected and read by the group. Meetings are at participants’ homes.

Tuesday night at the Movies Discussion—Meets the last Tuesday night of the month at 7pm. Movies are chosen by the group and watched prior to our discussion. Meetings have been virtual but may become in person as COVID protocols allow!

Women’s Gourmet – Meets six Sundays throughout the year. No cooking expertise is required. All you need is a sense of adventure and an interest in the study of foods around the world. Themes and recipe choices are up to the host, who sends them out to the other participants to prepare and bring to the dinner.
